I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Water Science at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) in Canada. I am conducting land use change modeling using your MOLUSCE plugin in QGIS, which has been extremely helpful for my research.
As part of my work, I am developing future land use scenarios based on narrative frameworks co-created in participatory workshops. I have historical land cover maps from 1950 to 2022, and spatial explanatory variables such as population density, slope, distance to roads and rivers, and zoning maps (areas where construction is permitted or restricted).
I am currently trying to implement three contrasting future scenarios up to the year 2100, with land use projections every 5 years. Each scenario implies different assumptions about urban expansion and land transformation. For this, I need to manually define or modify the land use transition matrix used by MOLUSCE to reflect scenario-specific trajectories.
Unfortunately, I have not found a way to manually edit or import a custom transition matrix in the plugin interface. I would be very grateful if you could provide any guidance on how to achieve this—either through the plugin itself, via file modification, or through any accessible code within the plugin’s structure.
Thank you in advance for your time and support. Your help would greatly enhance the quality and relevance of my research.
Best regards,
